The RingThe trailer starts with an establishing shot of a "creepy" barn which is essential to set the mood of a horror trailer and is something similar which we may aim to alter into our iteration of the supernatural-j horror hybrid genre. This would be to allow our to have a sense of familiarity and being to be more comfortable with the trailer as well.
|
The GrudgeUnlike The ring ,The Grudge use a large amount of close up and extreme close ups to ensure the audience can see the facial expressions of the victims and keeps the Antagonist very concealed , showing mostly shadows and silhouettes of the perpetrator . This i think is very impressive as it keeps them engaged but also allows the seems to be tense and frightening at this same time . This is something Bounty Studios knows we want to implement in our trailer and although we don't have access to CGI to create silhouettes or our antagonist as seen in this trailer it will still be possible to recreate
|
Sinister IIIn this trailer they use quick shots and mid shots to quickly show flashed of the antagonist which is something we use to show off ours in a shower scene , this is to create a more tense atmosphere which is essential for a horror trailer
|
The ConjuringThe POV combines with low lighting at this beginning of this trailer is something that I find truly impressive a sets a mood of total suspense within 5 seconds of action which is a shot I think we'd rather have somewhere in the middle of one of our bullies. The establishing shot used mid trailer is also something we would like to use as it adapts to the mood of the horror genre and allows the audience to be I'm to be emerged into the environment of the film .

The Canon EOS 750D is a DSLR that, while not bottom-rung like the EOS 1200D, is reasonably affordable, and offers simple operation that’ll appeal to those who don't want to get knee-deep into the manual side of photography. It gets you the DSLR benefits of lens choice and good image quality, without the daunting learning curve.

Looking more closely at those aforementioned specs, the 600D is built around an 18-megapixel, APS-C sized CMOS sensor and the same Canon DIGIC 4 processor as the 550D. Sensitivity remains pegged at a useful, if not class-leading, ISO 100-6400 with ISO 12,800 available in expanded mode.

The past few years have seen a rapid growth in popularity of consumer digital SLRs, and a corresponding expansion of the ranges of cameras available from the main manufacturers. A couple of years ago Canon's DSLR range consisted of a triple-digit "entry-level" model such as the EOS 350D or 400D, a double-digit model for advanced amateurs and semi-professionals such as the EOS 30D or 40D, and then it was on to the professional single-digit models such as the EOS 5D and EOS-1D model

The Canon EOS 550D is not quite Canon's highest-spec'd consumer digital SLR, but it still packs a mighty punch. The EOS 550D sits just below the EOS 50D and the more professionally orientated EOS 7D in Canon's rather cluttered product line-up, but in some ways it trumps these higher-spec'd cameras. For example, the EOS 550D packs in more megapixels than the EOS 50D (18Mp versus 15.1) and offers more sophisticated HD video features, with the ability to manually control exposure.

It's the company's flagship model, featuring a wealth of video options and accessories that help to ensure the model and brand's popularity. These options include 4K video or slow motion full HD video at 120 frames per second, alongside a range of 1080p full HD frame rates. This makes it a great choice for professional videographers as well as home users who want flexibility over the video quality and resolution settings. If however you just want a camera that captures the action then the the GoPro Hero4 Black may just be overkill.

TripodThe tripod supports the camera allowing us to take smooth shots such as pan and tilt with little effort and minimal errors.
|
Shoulder RigThe shoulder rig allows the camera operator to have movement flexibility and capture steady shots simultaneously.
|
Gorilla GripThis is a mount that allows us to attach the camera to obscure locations , expanding the horizons for our creative potential.
|
SteadicamThis keeps the camera in a fixed position similar to the purpose of the shoulder rig however allows us to take smooth shots at ease.
|
TrackThis allows us to create shots that captivate movement and keeps the shot looking at an even pace.
|
Mini DollyThis allows use to capture stable low angle shots/shots that are closer to the ground.

Shutter speed / Exposure time is the length of time when the film or digital sensor inside the camera is exposed to light, If the shutter speed is fast, it can help to freeze action completely. If the shutter speed is slow, it can create an effect called “motion blur”, where moving objects appear blurred along the direction of the motion. It is harder to get a focal point when using slow shutter speed because the camera is trying to focus on capturing everything that moves within the frame, and vice versa.
Camera Shutter Speeds: Canon 550D: Maximum shutter speed of 30 seconds Canon 7D: Shutter speed range 30 to 1/8000 s Bulb Canon 600D: Shutter speed range 1/4000 to 30 sec and bulb, 1/200 s X-sync Canon 750D: 30-1/4000 sec (1/2 or 1/3 stop increments), Bulb GoPro Hero: Max: 0.5sec Min: 1/8192 |
Aperture and focal length of an optical system determine the cone angle of a bundle of rays that come to a focus in the image plane.Using a low aperture means more light is entering the lens and therefore the shutter doesn't need to stay open as long to make a correct exposure which translates into a faster shutter speed.
Camera apertures settings: Canon 550D: Maximum aperture of f/3.5 Canon 7D: Maximum aperture of f/3.5 Canon 600D: Maximum aperture of f/3.5 Canon 750D: Maximum aperture of f/3.5 GoPro Hero: Maximum aperture of f/2.9 |
ISO is the level of film speed that a camera uses. The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera. he component within your camera that can change sensitivity is called “image sensor” or simply “sensor”. It is the most important part of a camera and it is responsible for gathering light and transforming it into an image.

List of shots needed
|
This is an introduction to our camera work, the purpose of this is to ensure that we have an idea of the kind of shots that we will need for our actual trailer when we go our filming , and correct our work in order to ensure that the shots we use for our actual trailer are appropriate and relevant.

List of angles needed
|
This is the introduction to my second camera diary session, where i will be shooting the different angles, and trying to discover what would fit for our trailer.

List of movement techniques needed

This is this third and final diary session , this was to capture the movement of subjects and see how they would fit into our trailer
